Hi, I have Dell Studio preloaded with Vista. After disabling flash cache module and chose ATA under SATA Operation, I had XP installed on E: drive successfully. While Vista was still default on C: drive, and D: drive was Recovery drive. After XP installed, I can only boot from XP. And the drive letter was auto changed to D: drive, and Recovery was auto moved to E: drive. Then, I need to revive Vista. So I followed the instruction by running VistaBootPro on the XP. Every seems fine untill I did reboot. I can see the boot window with 3 choice, Vista, Recovery, and XP. But both XP and Vista don't startup. If I choose Vista, it will go to the normal startup window, but then with a quick blue fresh screen, it then ask for debugging. If I choose XP, it would say I have missing or corrupted NTLDR. But I have copied all the three file to the root directory of D drive. Now I can only go to command mode with Winxp installation CD.
Can someone please give me some suggestions? Thank you so much in advance.

With a computer like that, you needed turn Sata to ATA liek you did, install XP, find the driver for the Sata controller, install it in XP, boot to BIOS and turn Sata back on. Boot back to XP and the use VistaBootPro to get the dual boot running.

Thank you so much for the reply.
I have the problem finding the XP SATA driver for Studio. And that's the reason I disabled Sata in the beginning.
Also, since I need to run XP asap, do you think it's a good idea to reinstall XP at the same drive where the XP didn't start up?
Or how do I remove VistaBootPro at XP command prompt?
Thanks a lot.

VistaBootPro is a GUI that runs the new Vista boot manager. VistaBootPro will not stop your computer from booting.

You can try to reinstall XP with the Sata turn off and then run XP but Vista will not work until you turn the Sata back on. The driver can probably be found at the manufacture of your motherboard.
