There is a BIG problem with my pc. When i try to play a song in the Windows Media Player, an error message displayed: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."

+When i start my pc it displays no sound at all! I can play all videos but without any sounds!

+I checked on the device manager and there is no any red X or yellow exclamation sign next to the "Sound, video and game controllers" section!!! The devices listed there is "Sigma Tel High Definition Audio CODEC".

+I am using Dell Inspiron 1420 Windows Vista Home Premium, and the processor is Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU.

Please help.

What you can try is this; go to the device manager and uninstall the sound controller, then reboot, and let it reinstall the sound controller driver.
