Hey guys,
I just connected my xbox 360 to my network and i am trying to figure out how to get my DVD's that i ripped to play on my 360. I had to do a registry hack to get it to work in Vista M.C. Anyone know how to do this? I have the VOB files saved on my HDD. I got tired of all of my DVD's getting scratched up by the kids, so i ripped them and put them on my computer. Now i want to stream them.
Thanks!

:-/ Did you rip them in a way that actually removes the encryption? Or just copy/paste the VOB files?

I ripped them to where it removes the encryption.

i still haven't figured it out. I've ripped over 50 of my movies and would like to be able to watch them through media center, but still having trouble with getting it to play. This is frustrating. Does the 360 have a registry somewhere. Its all based off a linux O/S, right?

It's ... a Microsoft piece of hardware ... that would be such a slap in their own tech-guys's faces that it could never happen... take a look at this article:
http://www.windowsfordevices.com/news/NS3988467635.html
Looks like it's about 0.3% Windows 2000 based.
I would, though, LOVE to get to play with Linux on an Xbox 360... both for the pure joy of Linux on an MS built piece of hardware, and because, looking at the hardware specs... it would run very fast, and very clean. I am a little amazed that they broke the usual 'power of two' approach used in choosing the number of processors in an SMP system... three?
As per your original question... I'd check into it if I had the toys to do so...
