Thanks for that info JoAnn. I do usually prefer the homeopathic route myself. I'm putting him back on the Rimadyl I was given for him this morning. I didn't give him a dose last night and he's a bit stiff again. I guess I must just go with what the doc says for now smilenod

My doggy made a full and complete recovery from his leg injury and is probably more boisterous than ever! It's great seeing him back to his usual energetic self. Incredible how much attention he demands and I believe that's common in big pure bred dogs. He tries to get involved in all interactions I have and grab attention and with my sisters dogs next door, which are all much older and bigger than him he's just totally fearless and gives them a real hard time despite their warning growls and snapping.

I'm leaving him there for a few days while I go away. It's been a bit of a concern that he'll be socialized into the pecking order they have so I've tried to keep interaction with them to a minimum over the past few months. I think that's helped him with confidence and independence and he just seems not to care about who's supposed to be top dog - he is of course lol

Thanks guys. I took the little beast in to have the snip done this morning and I'll pick him up from the Vet in a couple of hours.

I hope that doesn't turn him into a woosy little girlie doggie with no b*lls lol Just kidding, I know it shouldn't do smilenod

He's very subdued, probably still due to the anesthetic. There's a row of stitches across his *beep* and I'm told to watch for "leakage".

The stitches are supposed to come out in 10 to 14 days...if they last that long. He hasn't started licking his "wounds" yet, but he will and I believe it's seldom necessary to take him in to get the stiches removed. I didn't ask but I guess it's the disolving sort of thread they use.

It's going to be interesting observing any changes in his nature or temperment smilenod

Ya, they use dissolving stitches, at least they do here. I have never seen my dogs or cats have a behaviour change but then I'm not a breeder with tons of experience. At least the cats stopped mewling and screaming to get out of the house and the dogs didn't run off anymore.

I'm taking the poop dog in to have his stitches taken out this morning. The vets a cheapster and didn't use dissolving ones.

So far I can hardly tell any difference in the mutts behavior. If anything he's been more full of energy and mischief although he seems to be a bit more "home bound". I believe it takes at least six weeks for before the testosterone levels disappear so he's got another threee weeks or so to go.

On Saturday morning I needed to buy a new hat (my old one got chewed real bad when I wasn't looking), so I took him with me to the flea market, on a short leash. It's a massive flea market with cattle and other livestock auctions and all the usual "garage sale" items and all sorts of other plastic junk. Folk come from far to see what bargains they can find and it's real crowded. Some retailers even have stalls and one has to be careful that prices aren't over inflated. I've seen used power tools and accessories that go for more at the flea market than in the shops.

Every hill billy and yahoo type you can imagine seems to crawl out to this market and it's great to gawk at them all lol The first time I went there I was advised to dress down otherwise I wouldn't fit in lol There was even someone with a huge bowl of used false teeth for sale but I didn't have the good fortune to see anyone trying them for a fit #Rofl

At first he was taken aback by the crowd so I let him sit on the sidelines and just watch. Didn't take him long to stop wanting to greet and play with everyone. Then he was overwhelmed by all the fresh smells and had his nose glued to the ground like a vacuum cleaner sniffing it all up.

When I found the floppy cloth bush hat I wanted, there was a low table with stuff displayed on it. While I was busy with the stall owner, he jumped up on that and made himself comfortable on top of the clothing laid out on it lol

Overall he behaved pretty well considering it's the first time he's seen such a crowd.
