hey guys, im doing a case study for my Management class on a company called TerraLUX (http://www.terraluxcorp.com). They manufacture LED Light Engines. This is a group case study. My current assignment is to do a small research on how LED bulbs are used by OEMs. Some OEMs that use/can use LED light engines are Car manufacturers, Hospital equipment manufacturers, Flash light manufacturers, Huge LED screen manufacturers and Traffic light manufacturers.

If anyone know more about LEDs in OEM industry, your input is very appreciated

Sounds like a very cool study! LED's are all around us! Power indicator lights on almost every consumer device are LED's. Keyboard manufactures use them to backlight the keys (for example: Logitech G15). My Asus Eee PC's LCD screen is backlit with LED's to conserve power and to use up less space (since it is so small).

These are just a few OEM uses that I came up with quickly! Good luck with your study!

Vehicles that I know that use LED headlights that are available in the North American market right now are the Lexus LS 600h and the 2008 Cadillac Escalade Platinum Edition. I believe that the supplier for the Cadillac is Hella, but I am not sure about the Lexus.

Dell XPS laptops are offered with LED backlit screens for an extra $150, I think.

I have tried LED light bulbs for my home and I don't like them. I sent them back because they were not bright enough. I do like my LED MAG-Lite flashlight though.
