Yep, those are standard ports for incoming HTTP and FTP requests.

ah cool cool

do most routers and stuff have an option to close all ports except ones you select?
or do you have to go in and do it yourself?

By default, on a router all ports are blocked from incoming requests due to Network Address Translation (NAT). NAT routes incoming data to the correct computer or device based on a request that your computer or device sent out. If an incoming request comes to any port of the router from the Internet without an outgoing request first, it will be blocked by default.

The only way to make sure an incoming request is accepted by a specific computer, is to use port forwarding to that computer, so the router will receive the request and forward the request directly to the computer you want it to go to.

If you are running a web server on a specific computer on your network, you will want to forward all HTTP requests on port 80 (or other port you choose, 80 is the default) from the Internet to the computer running the web server. If you are not running a web server on your network, then there is no need to froward port 80 and by default your router will block requests on that port.
