Thanks folks smile It's sometimes hard to tell what the mutt is thinking JoAnn. They kinda have this deadpan down-in-the-mouth look about them lol It's only when he shows the whites of his eyes that you can sure he's being playful and up to mischief. I just took him for a good long walk and when we got back he spread out on the (unfinished) concrete verandah (porch) floor. Quite a long dog - that's about 2 foot 10 inches from front paws to back paws. I just had to grab the camera for that shot lol

I got some pics from the breeder, of him when he tiny and of his parents. He really was the runt of the litter, but I think he's going to grow really big judging by the size of his paws already thumbsup

That's him in the centre foreground...doesn't even get to suckle before the others are done dgi

Hey but these are two real ugly dogs. Hope there's some genetic throwback that makes him look a bit different to that lol

This little pup's growing quite nicely. He's now a little over 4 months. His front legs came right (the one just didn't quite look the same as the other) and then his neck started getting thicker and the one side of his face looked like it swoll up till the other side caught up. Quite weird watching it grow literally before ones eyes. I need to take him for his 3rd round of injections and will probably do that next week.

Here's a pic of him drinking from a bowl I put out under some trees for the birds (it's got a rock in the middle for them to stand on). One can see his size nicely in that one. The second pic he's playing with his leash, which he really loves lol

That's some, to me, strange colouration. The boxers here are usually blonde to tan uniformally, yours looks like camouflage, I've never seen that before. Looks like he'll be handful!

That color is known as "brindle" Algis, and is actually quite common but not as sought after. I like both the fawn and brindle. The b*tch that I had years ago was fawn. BoZee gets his coloration from his mom but his dad is fawn smilenod The pure whites were until not so long ago put down at birth. That was really because the british police, who use them amongst other breeds, didn't want them because they were too visible at night. That practice has largely stopped though now I understand, but the whites are also prone to skin diseases.

Hey those are beautiful dogs Bobby...check that ones eyes under the water lol

This pup is training really well, and without training they sure can be a handful. I've started with basic obedience training and give it to him almost everyday. When he gets too boistrous I have to remind him whose who by getting him to sit and then send him to his basket and call him back to me a few times. He gets that down pretty good but a bit reluctantly if it's quite a distance that he has to go. He sorta gives me a look and a whine which seems to say "oh no not that right now please?" but he does it ok. Oh and if I'm standing when I call him to me he just won't come. I have to kneel down before he will because that's how I started with the training.

My little doggy is experiencing some really sore growing pains and there's just nothing one can do about it cry

When he's been lying down for some time and then get's up, it seems like something in his hindquarters (back or legs) hurts and he yelps in pain as he stands. Last week the Vet said he may start feeling some growing pain but I kinda dismissed it. This has been happening for the past few days now and it's weird because once he's up there's nothing that's painful, even if I squeeze or put preasure where the pain seems to be. I hope it stops soon eek

The little guys head is again growing like heck too and almost daily I'm amazed at how it (his head) seems to be getting heavier and heavier. The Vet said he'd probably weigh in at around 40 Kg (88 Lbs) when he's fully grown.

Awww, can't they give him some Metacam for pain Graham? I know its an arthritic drug. I give it to my cat for pain.

I'll bear that in mind thanks JoAnn. Funny, at the moment it's only a few times a day he seems to hurt. If it doesn't ease up soon I'll take him to the Vet smilenod

Yesterday morning (Sunday) there was no more yelping when he woke up, so I took him for a good long walk and exhausted the little mutt.

It's quite funny to see how his rump and hind legs have grown much more than the front legs and shoulders at this point. He seems to be too high at the back now lol
