I need a boot disk for an older Mac so that I can wipe out the hard drive completely. They do not have any disk from apple.

Is there such a beast that I can download and burn.

DBAN supports PPC processors and is a drive wiping utility (write zeros and/or random strings)

I could not figure out the DBAN and it said floppy so I wnt with Xubunto and going to TRY it.

Think it will work?

DBAN is really simple... if you just put it in auto mode, it'll start going. All it does is erase the hard drive x number of times. It's supposed to obliterate all information on it to the point where it's unrecoverable. It's not a quick process though. But you just put it on a floppy and boot to it, and there's not much else to it.

Here's the page with download info. You can put it on a floppy, or there is a CD image you can burn.
