I'm not sure what I did, but now on my desktop I have the "Web View Pane" on the left side which is the blue banner that has the "Folder Tasks", "Other Places and "Details" sections to it. Interestingly enough, when I click on the desktop, any open programs minimize as well. Anyway, how do I get that annoying task bar to go away?

The same thing happened to me. Restart your pc. It works. Other then that, I dont know. Josh

Doug Knox gave me the answer on another system. go to dougknox.com, click on windows XP and look at the tips tweaks section thanks doug
