I did already and I tried again. Even running it as administrator it disappears immediately. It looks as if it has been running but I can not see any results. Need some step-by-step system.

In order to try to run bcdedit.exe I tried to start up in safe mode but than my second problem came up again. The system stops to give me the chance to choose for the safe mode but the screen is frozen and I can only wait a 20 seconds and then the normal start up continues. See also my topic "unable to boot from cd/dvd" at the boot problems.
Maybe it all has to do with the same error. Who knows?

Just to get this straight, you open the command prompt as administrator and run a bcdedit command and the command prompt goes away?

Yes, I can not run bcdedit.exe as administrator. Start, bcdedit.exe at search and bcdedit at programs with right click and as administrator gives the results I told before. Zoefff and gone.

Nope, that won't work. You have to open command prompt as an administrator and not bcdedit. Bcdedit will just open and close unless you execute it under the command prompt winow.

Start -> Programs -> Accessories

Right click on command prompt and Run As Administrator

type in bcdedit /export "C:\test.bcd"

No that is okay. Thank you very much for this as it has really helped in understanding why certain individuals get this error. The error handler which is embedded into VistaBootPRO checks for certain values being returned and unfortunately is only in English. So the returned value for you is not in English which is generating the BCD Backup Error. As such this means that all languages are not supported.

We will see about translating all of VBP other languages to prevent this. I will also escalate this so we can get this out as soon as possible.

Now you also said you had another thread open. Our experts will also take a look at that to see if we can help out
