My installation on the P3 test rig went very smooth & took a total of 1 hr. & 23 minutes… exactly the same as the April CTP installation.
The timer countdown started at 59 minutes & when it hit 1 minute I still had another 32 minutes to wait.

Here are a couple of screenshots.

Very nice JD thumbsup I've still got many hours to go with my snail mail download.

Interesting to see that Windows Update still defaults through to Windows Server 2003 smilenod

I am using a hunk-of-junk rig... don't you have one of them laying around?

Last night I backed up the x64 Test Rig (from within the Vista Home Premium OS) that is ‘Quad Booting’ & has 6 partitions/ drives, after viewing the backup it appears that WHS backed up all the drives, I haven’t opened them yet for closer examination tho.

BTW this first backup took almost 2 hours to complete.

Has anyone else tried WHS RC & want to share what they found.
OH ya i found the WHS blue 'First Desktop' wallpaper... 1024x768_24bit.BMP (2.25MB) in the Install folder.

I did a manual backup of XP (took 26 minutes) this AM & then opened the backup to take a look.

From XP I could access the XP, Lh Server (different partition, same drive) & Storage (different drive) but could not access the Vista Home Premium data (different partition, same drive). While browsing the folders I found that I could also drag & copy a file from the backup onto the XP desktop.

It does appear that WHS has got some of the kinks worked out in RC.

I wanted to take a look at the backup files from Vista so I opened the backup but first Vista/WHS(Connector) wanted to install some Software, so I let it.

Next I was able to open & view the Vista, XP, Storage & Lh Server backups, I did the first 3 separately then I discovered that they were all available by just opening the Storage drive backup. I tested it by dragging & copying a file to the Vista desktop…worked.

WHS Connector popup to install software

Last night I was successful at getting the (Verizon supplied) Actiontec M1424WR router configured so I can access My WHS Web Page.

Edit: I just tested from work & could access WHS @ home using the NO-IP & (server) URL,
both worked thumbsup
Downloaded 2- things & uploaded 6 things too to be sure.

I downloaded the RC version, but had a rash of orders for computers so haven't had time to install it yet )-:
I had trouble with the CTP version not deleting older B/U's etc so the smaller hard drive int the test system quickly ran out of room unless I manually deleted them.

Well Daniel this RC build runs great for me, so far smilenod
I'm sure you will notice a improvement when you get it installed

Tonight I decided to try customizing the WHS Webpage…. Remember this is my first attempt to find a photo the correct size thumbsup

I found out one can change out the webpage image at: c:\inetpub\home\images\i_landingpage_main.png
I just renamed that image & replaced it with one exactly the same size (759 x 316) using the old name.
Renaming the webpage can be done easily at the ‘WHS Console/settings/remote’ page, at the bottom.
