Program worked the first time I installed it. Now every time I try to run it DEP closes it. I changed the settings for DEP to make an exception and allow the program to run but still DEP still closes the program I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times with the same problem. I don't understand how it could work the very first time I installed it with no problems and now it won't run at all, furious windows DEP keeps closing it. Even after I made an exception to allow the program. What do I do?

By the way I have Windows Vista RC1 X86 5600

Hi steeves2, and Welcome to PROnetworks

Running with DEP on for all programs currently causes a problem with VistaBootPRO which we are currently working on. One of the issues is that because VistaBootPRO makes modifications to a system boot file, full DEP will not allow it. We are working with some of the Vista development team to find a workaround for this. Currently if you turn off DEP for all programs (but leave it at the default for Windows services, VistaBootPRO should run. I am unsure as why it will not work for you with the exception however, and we will try to test this out - thanks for letting us know about this thumbsup

Due to the nature of changing system files which are required to boot, the functions of VistaBootPRO are administrative in nature, and thus require a higher access level which is accomplished with a manifest file (much as even running Microsoft's bcdedit.exe requires the command prompt to be run in full Admin mode in order to open the BCD store)
