OK, it's not a big deal for the price, $1.50/download, it's just the thought that I'd have to pay for a Beta. confused This came from MS Canada in an e-mail. Here's the URL if anyone's interested.

Quote:
To begin the Download Service:
1. Review the 2007 Microsoft® Office Beta 2 system requirements found here.
2. Acknowledge that you understand its best to have high speed internet service.
3. Select each product you wish download for a download service fee of $1.50 each (USD or local equivalent, plus Tax or VAT where required). All purchases of Microsoft® Office 2007 Beta Download Service are final.
4. Begin to download through the interface or confirmation email sent to you.
5. Install, Activate and Begin testing the 2007 version of Microsoft® Office system Beta 2!
6. Online Product Activation is required, check your confirmation email for the activation key. Phone activation not supported.
7. All Microsoft Office 2007 Beta 2 software has an expiration date of February 1st, 2007, at which time the product will operate under reduced functionality mode limiting end-user options and operations.

Once you've selected the products you're interested in testing, you will receive download instructions and the product key(s) for activating the beta.

They hit their download limit, I think it was like 100 thousand. So now they are charging for the download.

I can understand that but why go to a third party to do it for you? confused Oh well, so be it. Maybe they can't be bothered to give dl's.

That's the technical refesh update which means, you have to install the beta first, before you install this one.

I downloaded B2TR the other day- and then proceeded to try and find the B2 installer which I must have wiped when I ran out of HDD space (very stupid) so now I am completely stuffed (well, perhaps not completely)

I just read in the NG's where some guy had totally wiped all his O2k7b2 ISO's thinking they were corrupted or something, and downloaded the b2TR, then uninstalling all his Office 2K7b2 products and trying to install the B2TR....... eek
He ended up spending <$10 to redownload the Office files............ but all that time wasted dgi

Hehehe I made the same mistake but I had Beta 2 on my backup drive so at least didn't have to download it again.

if you're in the managed beta program, you should be able to download beta 2 for free from betaplace using the file transfer manager. unfortunately, it's only for those that are in the managed beta.
