Ehh, Corey's from BC. wink Actually this year there were quite a few destructive tornados up here this year, nothing like the US type, a couple not too far from where I live. I'll see if I can find a news story about it. LOL, small potatos in the larger scheme of things.
The main season for tornadoes is from April to October, and every province is subject to the risk of tornadoes.

Environment Canada

In Canada, during an average year, approximately 80 tornadoes occur and, on average, cause two deaths and 20 injuries, plus tens of millions of dollars in property damage. These are the reported numbers, many more tornadoes strike unpopulated areas and go undetected.

The averages are also deceiving because the majority of twisters do little more than bend TV antennae, break windows, uproot trees, or damage weak structures such as barns and sheds. With wind speeds of less than 160 km/h, and a path 100 m wide by 2 km long, these small tornadoes cause less than three percent of all deaths.

Tornados are pretty common all over Canada. I for one wont ever forget this one! I had a pet bird at the vets that day, and no way could I get there to pick him up.

My family and I had a tornado "chase" us down the highway in Michigan on the way back from my grandmother's house. We had to get under and overpass cause the hail was so bad, then we saw the tornado touchdown behind us and we put the pedal to the metal and got out of there.

I thought they were too. When we drove through BC and Alberta to Alaska in 2000, some tornadoes hit Edmonton (or right south of it) right after we left. That was one of the first times I'd also heard of tornado's in CA. But I guess it makes sense. The entire region north (and north west) of the gulf of Mexico is prone to such storms.
