Ok, I tried again this weekend on the combo ski. I got up on both skis and dropped one. The problem is that my size 14 foot cant get in the back pocket so I'm stuck just putting my foot on top of the pocket. I can do a slow wide turn and stay up for about 45 seconds. I know it doesn't sound like much, but I am happy.

We have a Slalom ski that is 3 inches longer and a tad wider so next weekend I'm going to try deep water starting with that.

Anyone have any coments or tips?

This is the ski my dad learned on. Its 35 years old but its all we have for a good slalom so I will try it this weekend.

EDIT: BTW I cant even fit my foot in the back of that one and my dad says thats as big as they come.

I always just start on one ski now, I find it easier. What i do is get my dad to tighten the rope with the boat. I lean back as far as i can go and also keep as much pressure between your body and the ski. Keep very stiff while the boat starts and let it pull you up. Best of luck. Other wise start on 2 skies and drop a ski balance your foot in the air for a minute and slowly move it into the foot binding.
