Anyone notice the Google logo today?

When I first saw curling I was like WTF is this?

Now I love the sport, though I'm still fully learning the terms/rules.

Anyone else taken to this sport at the games?

I played it for over 40 years...lol. It's a good game with lots of skill once you get to know it. Unfortunately our ladies Olympic champions of four years ago have been knocked out, but the men are still in with a chance. thumbsup

I had the same reaction when I first saw the sport, then I started to play shuffleboard at some of the local bars (very similar in idea to curling). after I grasped the basic idea of the game, I started to get a hold of the strategy and from that point on, I really like it.

I watched the US play the UK (Scotland) the other day, good game.

I like how they call it "Chess on Ice." I've really taken to it... wish I could try my hand at it here.

The tonight show with Jay Leno has picked at it a lot. "What do you do after you retire from curling? I mean, all that sweeping? Become a maid?"

Great new sport on my list though thumbsup

LOL John the game is indeed chess on ice, and when you play it, it's amazing how many moves there are to stop your opponent or how to lead him into a trap. Have a look at this site, it seems quite interesting. Of course we Scots brought the game to the forefront, and nurtured it for years.

Oh yeah thats the first thing I noticed watching the US women, when they were playing Japan. Sure makes it even more entertaining. lol lol

On the other hand I think I am beginning to get the grasp of most of the rules and it's quite entertaining once you figure out what the heck they are doing. lol lol
