Sandisk Titanium 1gb USB Memory Stick
Exclusive to PROnetworks
So it's come to this? Another review from your old pal Hidden_Hunter! This time I will be taking a look at something all of us dealing with IT on a regular basis need, the trusty USB memory stick. The model I will be taking a look at today is the Sandisk Cruzer Titanium (some how it earned the nickname T** Cruzer at my house!), is it any good? What makes it special? Read on to find out!
Let's cover the basics first.
Physically the unit is slightly longer than most other USB sticks that you will find around that home and office, but it isn't much wider than a standard USB port, so carrying it around in your pocket should be a non issue (is that USB stick in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?)It weighs about the same as most other USB sticks of the same size, which is important to the business orientated folk who don't want it to feel like they're carrying around an old IBM mainframe in their pocket.
Now it's beginning to seem like a fairly boring rudimentary USB stick, so now you're probably asking, what makes this one special? Who are you and why are you wasting my time? The answer is simple, this is one isn't enclosed in plastic that looks like its been stolen from a wheely bin, but in silver(ish) metal (the box suggests titanium but I find this difficult to believe given the extreme cost of titanium, but that's not the point)
The stick feels very solid and well constructed in your hand and the metal joints don't look like there going to pop open and leave you with a case that works better as a paper weight than a storage device. I had to of course check how well built it was and if you would trust this with your big report for the boss, what better way to check it than drop it from the second story of my house onto slate tiling!
