the trick is all fine and dandy but arent you actually ruining the hardware unit over time???? i mean that has to be making the laser or what ever optical reader stop and continue all the time and make it work harder than it is supposed to........so therefore hurting you system over time

Yuh this is more of a glitch then a hack, thats kinda why thiers the whole "hack"(if you could call it that) in the original post. But doing anything that is not officially supported seems to be what the avergae person refers to as a hack today(like the tivo easter eggs, or the psp web browser hack) as far as it hurting the psp i will say that this will give some added stress onto the lazer i believe, but not enough to stop me from doing it(i figure the most i will lose is a week or two in the life of my psp, seeing as I dont do this everyday, just is one or two extra accesses from the disk each time, so it shouldnt do that much damage, atleast i hope) Its like the swap trick from the original ps1's, or the import swap using a rubber band for dreamcast. It will hurt the system, but by the time it dies you will be able to buy one for less then half the original.

Just curious, but in your opinions, how is the PSP? I'm thinking of getting it. BTW, I had another question. I have this software called "DVD Shrink" which I can "Shrink" DVD's onto my PC. If I had a large (like 1GB) memory stick on my PSP, and I managed to fit a video to 1GB, could I play it from the memory stick or only muisc and saves and pics can be stored on the memory stick?

Yes, You can watch mp4's on the psp. The psp is really cool. I love it.
