Hi, as some of you may have read i'm having problems playing video files. I have pinpointed the errors down to 'quartz.dll' file i think. Could domeone please search heir LH install for the 'quartz.dll' file to see if it exists. It doesnt in mine but it does in my XP install. Cheerz guyz

I can't believe that nobody has had a quick look to see if the 'quartz.dll' exists on their longhorn install.

Hi simo7923,
I've had similar problems. The quartz.dll file is directly related to your DirectX graphics acceleration. you dont want to be messing about with this file for any reason, or you will be reinstalling afresh.
If you use windows media player, what to do is go into tools menu in your windows media player, then options, then click in performance tab, then reduce your video acceleration slider from full to halfway. After this try your video files again, and see if it works.

I just took a look at my Installed Lh & the quartz.dll file is in my:
windows/I386 and
windows/system32
folders. Its 1176KB in size.
Hope this helps you simo.

Thats great cheerz for that....I've search and searched and it's not on my install. I can see it in my XP partition. I may have to go for a full reinstall. Cheerz again
