this is intriguing!
i installed LH today for the first time , and since then i have had my fair share of ups and downs

but this thread is abt LH windows messenger.

till now i connected with Windows messenger for 5 times , and at all times , after just connecting and showing users online and stuff , my syetem restarted , this is not good.

one more thing , in tht windows messenger there is no option to save login info so tht user doesnt have to type it every time (cmon MS thats a basic need for IM client , or didnt they think so?) i dont think its good idea to type all tht every time i want to connect!

I had similar problems with the messenger that was already on Longhorn. Also all my buddies were duplicated. I downloaded Messenger 6.1 and have had only 1 problem. When i ask messenger to automatically log me on.....error messages but personally i think this is due to me not settingup my passport properly in LH. Try the 6.1 version. Although you've probably downloaded it anyway

yaa MSN 6.1 is fine enough , but i was wondering abt tht inbuilt windows messenger.
i mean , thats not at all different from what winXP has , so if XP doesnt counter such problems then why shud LH's Messenger.
i just checked tht my winXP has windows messenger version 4.7.2009 , and LH has soemthing like 6.0.**** , but there is hardly any difference between the too , and in fact IMHO 4.7 is better
why shud this happen? or Microsoft, while working on a next big thing LH , neglected to look after and upgrade windows messenger?

something shud be done abt tht windows messenger
