I just installed Longhorn and it messed up some xp file <windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe and I cant find a place where I can download it so Ican reinstall it. confused

If you mean XP to reinstall, just reboot from CD. Hope you didn't have anything important lost. Backups are always a good thing to have. smilenod when testing something new.

try if the XP CD will recognize the bad copy of XP, you can use the restore feature. It basically uses the upgrade method. Try that out first because your data will be intact if it works
