I have an Intel D845GBV mother board with an integrated sound card. I tried everything, downloading the drivers off the internet, the so called "improved" add new hardware wisard (looked the same as the old one to me) and even making my own driver. If anyone has found a way to get the integrated SoundMax audio card on intel boards to work e-mail me. It says when I try to load the drivers on longhorn that this OS is not supported, not suprising I guess. So if anyone has any comments on this PM me or e-mail me at Removed By Mac

Thanks all

I have the same problem with my SoundMaX integrated card too, all i can hope for is the next version of Longhorn supporting a broader range of drivers, cuz as far as i know now, it won't until the next build...

Good Luck and Keep looking!

How to install the SCdrv for that Soundmax intergrated chip.

Go to intel support and search for your MBoard model then go to the drivers section. Look for the Intergrated Audio Driver file dload. For the D845GBV board the file is named WDM3516B_CADENZA.EXE it should be the same for all the others "Intel" only. http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/Filter_Results.asp?strOSs=All&strTypes=BIO%2CDRV%2CUTL&ProductID=825&OSFullName=All+Operating+Systems

How to make it work: Extract the exe to any dir then right click on the Setup.exe file goto properties and there will be a tab called Compatibilty up top change it to 2000 then click apply then ok.

This should work

Thanks to ejoseph i have found out how to make your SoundMax card work on Longhorn. When you download the driver for your sound card right click on the .exe driver file and click on the compatability tab. Now check the Run this program in compatability mode for: and choose windows 2000. After you have done all this you should just be able to run the .exe file and istall it. If you have any questions PM me, e-mail me or send me a message.
