CinemaNow, Samsung team for downloads

NEW YORK -- CinemaNow said Thursday that it is partnering with Samsung to offer content on the electronics company's new P2 mobile device. With this deal, CinemaNow users will be able to download feature films, TV shows and music videos from a co-branded Web site. Downloads will range in price from $1.99 to $19.95.

Samsung officially launched the P2 in the U.S. on Thursday. With its 3-inch touch screen, it was been mentioned as the Korean company's answer to Apple's iPod touch. Samsung also announced deals Thursday with Rhapsody and Napster to make content available on the P2.

CinemaNow has downloadable film and TV titles from Disney, Fox, Lionsgate, MGM, Paramount, Sony, Warner Bros. and Universal. The company has music videos and concerts available from EMI and Sony BMG artists and deals with the Sundance Channel, A&E and the History Channel.

CinemaNow also has content delivery deals with Hewlett Packard, Microsoft and EchoStar. The company has investment from Microsoft, Lionsgate, Blockbuster and Cisco.
