I have installed XP on E: on a Toshiba laptop that already had Vista on C:.

Now I only see XP which is normal. I am using VistaBootPRO 3.3.0 to try to get a dual boot.

I already used the Manage OS Entries to add Windows XP.

I understand the next (and last) step is to use System Bootloader, but I am not sure what options I should check, for some of them:

- For "Choose a System Bootloader to install" I should certainly select "Windows Vista Bootloader";

- For "System Bootloader Install Options", should I check "All Drives" or "System Partition" or "Specific Drive"? I don't understand the impact of this decision.

- Should I check the optional "Force Bootloader Install" before I click on the "Install Bootloader" button? What does this "Force ..." do?

Thanks for your help!

P.S.: I enclose the "View BCD Registry Settings" with "All" checked, with the hope that someone will tell me whether the state I have obtained seems coherent, and whether proceeding with "System Bootloader" is safe from this point, and will get me a dual boot.

It looks like you should be fine selecting the Vista bootloader>All Drives>Install bootloader. Provided all the boot system files for both operating systems are on the root of the drive tagged "System" in Device Manager (in either OS that should be the same), you should get the dual boot menu and be able to boot to either operating system.

If you mouse over the items you'll see a description in the status bar at the bottom of the page. Clicking the help icon on the bottom right of the page also gives a bit of a description smilenod
