Two weeks ago I bought a brand new HP note book (HP 530 notebook core duo processor) and I'm still unable to install Windows Vista on its harddisk.
During Win vista installation I always get an error that hard disk was not detected, however the harddisk is good because I succeeded to install Linux on this note book .
I got a reccomendation to add the HP drivers trying to edit the Windows Vista CD installation kit with a free software called Vista Lite Windows CD editor.
Since I'm not a 'computer person' I don't know how to work with Vlite software or with any other Vista editor to edit or configure Windows Vista. Also I’m not sure that this is a real solution.
If anyone had the same problem, I would be glad to get a simpler solution to make my new notebook to work with Win Vista. I have to mention that I didn't receive any drivers CD toghether with the laptop.

Due to this problem I renounced at windows with this computer and now installed linux on it. Installed wine free software emulator for linux which makes run certain windows regular programs on linux os, also bittorrent download program an made it an internet computer mainly for torrent downloads and i think it's a good choice as I read that on linux are very few viruses.
It was not my original ideea and I saw linux has its limits but this could be an alternative for others who had similar issues with installing the operating system on an empty computer

I have used nLite to integrate SATA drivers on Windows XP for a Dell and an Asus notebooks. It is not that complex. The alternative would be to load the driver from floppy disk during install process.

When installing Vista, you can use a USB flash key instead of a floppy, for computers that may not have a floppy drive delivered with them smilenod
