I'm designing a website for a friend, but (once again) I've hit the creative roadblock... Do you have any ideas? I need to incorporate some more colors, and get a more creative header going. (Time spent on project so far is about 4 days: 1hr per day) So its still in the development stage...

you know, the absolutely easiest way to build a website, is to go to www.weebly.com and use their online web building tools. they even host it, all free.

I'm not talking about building. I'm talking about the graphical aspect. What is something creative I can add to the header and how can I incorporate more colors?

I like the design but it does need a few changes. I think have a dark (possibly black/brown) background and taking the main logo and putting that on the top left corner of that page will make it actually stand out more and give it a more professional look.

I can see what you are talking about but I know the changes above will make it look more colonial if that is the look you were going for. Also, I would search for a better parchment paper PSD file. It doesn't look real enough. I know there are some great tutorials out there for parchment paper.

This is something that I came up with following some tuorials about parchment paper. It may be too dark for what I perceive you trying to come up with but you can always make it lighter. I am not sure if this is what you were trying to come up with. Also, I didn't know what you used to do the leaves so I left that part out.

Thanks a lot jbullard. I'm trying to go for more of a feminine, slightly-used, wrinkled piece of white paper. Your design is good, but it is a little more masculine than I want. (I have actually followed that tutorial for another design I did)
I just need some creativity in the header, not that content area.

What about taking the Madison's Blog part and putting that at the top left corner of the page, then have those leaves branch out to the, even going behind the piece of paper. Then, on the bottom right have more leaves, not a lot but enough to give it some spark.

Then have the piece of paper somewhere on the top left as well, close enough not to have millions of leaves, and far enough to set it off from the logo.
