Ever dreamt of a life as the scourge of the Seven Seas? Well dream no longer - Tropico 2 is here to fulfil all your piratical pinings and all your buccaneering burnings. In this demo you take control of a small Caribbean island and must build it up to enable you to plunder the passing trade ships and terrorise tourist boats in the local area, without the despoiled countries discovering your secret hideout or capturing your ships.

Your chosen leader in this demo is Blackbeard. You'll need to build both an iron foundry and logging camp, to provide essential cutlasses and timber for your boat-people. Then you can send your ships out to explore the local area, on a low-risk mission, or just send them to plunder a nearby settlement.

If you switch to map view, you'll see that the Spanish have built a settlement in nearby Venezuela - make sure your scurvy crew are equipped with the finest cutlasses and stripy shirts and send them off!


Your Pirate Captain's personality has an effect on the whole feel of the island he rules.
