Todays "TechNet Flash" email has this near the top:
| Quote: |
| Several TechNet Flash subscribers have written in asking why the Windows Home Server beta was not made available. At first blush I thought, "Why are IT pros interested in a home product?" But I guess IT pros do get to go home at night, sometimes. So good news for you: Windows Home Server is now in Beta 2 and Microsoft is inviting a broader group of external testers to participate. If you have at least two PCs, a broadband connection and router, and a spare PC or server that can be dedicated to Windows Home Server software, fill out the Windows Home Server Beta 2 Public Survey to see if you qualify. And bookmark the Windows Home Server blog for detailed discussions of this exciting, upcoming technology. |
SOoo it appears that this 'beta' will get bigger.

Although after a quick read through of the documentation - it appears you must have a "dedicated" system for WHS (Read = NO dual boot), so I'll have to plan my backup before diving into this one

Yup plan on it reformatting all hard drives in the system when it installs.

From the WHS Blog:
Another 10,000 invites
We sent out another 10,000 Beta 2 invites and in less that 4 hours over 5,000 people have activated their Connect account for Windows Home Server. We still have a backlog of people that want to get into the beta and we would love to get everybody in ... we are inviting people in batches so we can handle the issues that people have with getting access, downloading, and the initial feedback that the new participants provide.
Thanks to everyone for all of the great feedback, bug reports and suggestions via the Connect site. One request from the product team is to please search the bugs & suggestions on the Windows Home Server Connect site prior to submitting a new bug or suggestion. As it takes us time to resolve the duplicates, and we would prefer to have everyone voting and ranking the same bug and adding their comments to that bug so that we can easily understand what our beta testers think is the most important bug or suggestion.

I have a system sitting waiting for my invite........ I was going to load a trial of Server 2003 SP2 on it, but this looks more interesting.
