Just thought I'd let everyone know... I got a phone call last night telling me not to come to work for the next week!! Most hospitals in the greater toronto area have closed their doors and are accepting emergency cases only. This is a precaution to isolate cases and to help save on supplies...Masks are very short in supply. If you have to visit a hospital you will most likely find all staff wearing gowns, gloves and goggles for protection. Since health care professional levels are short staffed already, many are working around the clock and those of us who have been told to stay home may be called in at any time to relieve where we can. They are working on a vaccine that seems to work in a test tube but has yet to be used on a patient. I expect that this will be rushed through the channels for approval very soon. Keep you updated as more news comes my way.
