Silent Hill 2

If you prefer your games with a bit of a theatrical edge then Silent Hill is worth a try. Anyone who's played the original Silent Hill won't be disappointed as the sequel is as creepy as ever. In fact, it can be pretty scary and violent, and wer're quite surprised it only has a 15+ ELSPA rating.

James Sutherland, the protagonist in the previous game, recieves a letter from his long dead wife inviting him to meet her in - you guessed it - Silent Hill. The basic structure of the game is a third-person walk around. Find clues and interact with your environment to solve the puzzles.

Events vary according to how you fair in the game and which decisions you make. This also means you can play the game more than once. If you're new to the game then you might find it a little slow and the interface a little tricky to get used to. However, the overall graphics and supporting movie and environments are beautifully designed and keep the atmosphere tense. If you like non-stop quick-fire action this isn't for you, but it will definately attract a lare cult following.
