Beautiful pictures John. The bird gallery is awesome, excellent! Not easy to shoot birds.

Birding this trip was an especially neat treat. To see a bird that only has 1000-1500 numbers left in the wild was incredible, sad, but incredible. It very well could be extinct within a few years and this may be the last time I ever get to see it.

The honeycreepers as a whole though are just amazing. Most are believed to have evolved from the goldfinch of all species. Go figure?

The pics are fabulous John and they have come out brilliant and very professional. The detail on the bird pics is awesome, and must have taken some patience from you to get the shots. When you look at the scale of the waterfall and the pics taken at the very top looking down, they are just awesome. smilenod

I've finally gotten all the pictures online, and categorized... nearly 1000 of them.

Most of these will appear in our color book due out next Spring.

That was a great valley to hike it. A lot of controversy in it now though about public vs private lands. The entire Haumakua Coast from Pololu to Hilo though is just gorgeous.
