I notice on the Change Settings tab, Advanced, there is an option to "Delete Vista Boot Loader!" This sounds dangerous to me. What happens?
I'm interested because I have Vista dual booting with XP on this machine. If I delete the Vista Boot Loader, does that mean I can use a 3rd party boot manager, such as BootItNG to dual boot?

Walter B - If you plan on KEEPING your Vista install, DON'T TOUCH THAT BUTTON!! As far as I know, there are no 3rd party boot managers that take the place of the Vista bootmanager. VistaBootPRO is merely a better way to manage your entries in the Vista bootmanager, but not taking its place.
The use of the button to delete your Vista boot loader is when you are DELETING your Vista install for whatever reasons you have

It is dangerous Walter B and deleting the Vista Boot Loader results in just that - it being deleted. If one mouses over that button then one gets a warning followed by a prompt to make sure that is what you want to do
Cancelling the action results in another humourous prompt 
Whether or not one is then able to pull the Vista installation into BootItNG I don't know but I doubt it
Very good question actually and I'm going to split your post to its own thread so that it gets the attention it deserves. |

OK, now to propose a scenario:
My setup
XP installed on partition 1 HD0
then, Vista installed on partition 1 HD1
So, now I have dual boot.
Query?
If I no longer wish to work with the current build of Vista, can I delete the Vista Boot Loader and still boot to the XP partition?
If so, then the plan is to do that, format the old Vista partition, then install a newer build of Vista.

Yes, you can still boot xp after doing so just fine  |

That means that VistaBootPro needs to be on the XP partition?

To run it from XP, yes, you would install VistaBootPRO on the XP partition, much like you would install any other program in XP
But you can run it from the Vista drive. You can even delete the vista bootloader from Vista, then restart into XP and format the drive from there.
