Well, obviously, my favorite subject and hobby is traveling, so I'll start this section off by talking about that.

I'm curious... what's the best places in YOUR opinion you've been in the United States, and/or around the globe.

I'd like to get other's opinions.

Volcano's NP, Big Island Hawaii

Feel free to ask me ANY questions about traveling the United States. I've been to every single state, and almost every National Park in America. If I can't answer the question, then I know who to ask... my travel guide for all my trips but Hawaii. Or as I like to call her... mom. LOL

I have a particular fondness for the Western states John...but to me the most beautiful place I have ever been to was the Great Divide in Montana...awesome...no other word for it...

My favorite trip was one I took by myself following an old Anasazi trail leading from Utah to Arizona...it's a spiritual thing...

Wow... I bet that was something. Did that involved anything with Native American history to it? I know there is alot of it in that area. I've always been fascinated by Native stuff... which might be why I love Hawaiian native stuff so much... two of my favorite topics in one.

I too love the west, especially the North West. It's a whole new world...

Absolutley Native American History...the Anasazi mysteriously disappeared a very long time ago, I believe between 1300 and 1500...but there are still many ruins left standing over many areas of the SouthWest...Mesa Verde, Chaco Canyon and Canyon de Chelly just to name a few...These are the real tourist traps...there are many more smaller ones...which are the sites I chose to visit...

I was really impressed with Mesa Verde when I got to see it a few years back... I'll look more into this.

John...a really fun read on the Anasazi is a novel by Louis L'amour titled "The Haunted Mesa"...this book is a regular sized novel...not one of his regular thin novels...Basically the story involves a portal to another dimention where one is able to go back and forth between the 2 worlds...Captivating read if you like mystical mysteries...

hay there cowgirl, love Louis that’s a good book, my favs are about the Sackets. When I was a kid (still am) dad was a mine foreman so we lived about 1hr or so outside Mohab Utah in a mine trailer camp (about 1968 i think). He got a pony for us 4 kids; this camp was on the edge of the Grand Canyon with no one else around just our mom and us. i rode all over every day, there were all kinds of relics including Indian, it was a great summer but we had to come home for school in the fall. i have been to the high artic (Norway & Canada) all over Europe and the med but that is the greatest place i have been and some day i plan to go back (is it still there i wander).
to see a big artic hare run upright on its back legs is something or have a drink in the Texas bar in Lisbon or visit the red light district in Amsterdam (blue light for the gals) or collect coins and beads in new Orleans or walk the royal mile in Edinbourgh were also great.

yah it was great, the first time was on a junk steemer, our injector plate on the boiler broke (steem eng)and the good folks in rossithe (spelling?) ship yards fixed it, took a litle bit to find the bars they were behind the main streets ha ha. have to go back and see the highlands, tattoo and highland games.

Ah you must have been at Rosyth dockyards, and the best pubs in Edinburgh are all up the side streets. There are some amazing places there with world wide reputations, and the Edinburgh Military Tatoo is the best in the world.
