The 46 Best-ever Freeware Utilities

There are a lot of great freeware programs out there. Many are as good or even better than their commercial alternatives. This is Gizmo's selection of the best of the best. They've used every single product in this list and find each to be a gem. Of course other folks may differ but, hey, this is their selection ;>)

In this latest update there are actually 56 utilities but this report will still be called now and forever "the best-ever 46 freeware utilities." Go figure:>) In light of the the current malware plague they've re-ordered the list so that the first four products are security related.

Note: "Free" in this context means free for non-commercial or home use. Some products are also free for commercial use but check out the licensing details of individual products before making that assumption.

I am glad you have found it useful. Hopefully this will help others who, until now, have not had all this information gathered together in one place. This will be updated as new information is released.

Yeah I have not been to this site since it really was 46 prgorams (I noticed the actual amount is more now )

the one thing i really want is the gnuwin II disk, but it would take a while to get here, have to wait until i'm back at school for it, but there were some nice programs on that disk.

I have to say, it is a nice list. Good work!
