I agree with the post above. I've got 2 PC's in front of me now and the Dell is by far the most trouble-free of the several I have owned. I have a Dimension 8250, P4 2.53G, 60GB + 80GB external HD, factory 128Mb RAM upped to 1.024Gb, Dell 1901FP 19" LCD, Creative SB Live sound, video upgraded to Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra, DVD-ROM, replaced factory CD-ROM with Sony DRU-510A multi-format.
I have never had to call tech support. I run memory intensive apps and it is on 24/7. It's so quiet I sometimes think it shutdown. I gladly recommend Dell.

We got a Dell a couple of years ago and the only problem we have had was that the cd burner broke about a week after we got it and a guy came and replaced it. Since then no problems.

I quite agree, it's just on your luck, I've hade a DELL Dimension for 2 and 1/2 years now, I run it as a network server that provides the internet connection to the other 3, and I have changed the Ram, added a hard drive, added a CD-RW drive, and upgraded the BIOS, all of that without problems !
And also I am runing at this very moment ( and for most of the week as a matter of fact, I hardly turn it off lol !) a DELL Latitude D600 Laptop, which is one in the top end of their Laptops configuration, I got it with a free transport case, and all the hardware I wanted exactly in it.
Apart from that I also have a computer that I pieced together myself, It's got all the things I whant in it, and it runs just as hapily as the DELL.
The only reason I would go with somthing like DELL is if I couldn"t build it myself ( like with the laptop !) or if I needed it to be absolutly perfect, cos you can can be sure that when you buid a comp it's never going to be perfect, your always going to make one little mistake that the crew in the DELL tech isn't going to make !
So all I have to say is : GO DELL ! Unless you can build it yourself ... And I'm very sorry if some pople have had bad experience with them, but by the look of it there is more hapy people than dissapointed people...

Weird M@r(¤¤|04 just said that because I have a D600 too, but with my own build on it, that is the only thing dell dont do right, the factory install of the software, first thing I would reccommend is wipe the drive use the dell win xp disk and then the drivers disk and put your own custom setup on the machine (xp wont need to contact MS to register plus u dont need to put an xp key in either!).
Love the d600...it comes with an intel 54meg wireless card and I upped the RAM to 1 gig in that and a cd-rw/dvd combo so it is super kool, and yes the carry case is so sturdy that it could hold 2 of the laptops!!! Also comes with a really good Nvidea graphics card as standard too.
Just wanted to confirm GO DELL!!!!!
Regards,
Am :D

That's quite a coļncidence isn't it ! Yes firs thing I did is get ride of the factory install, and did it all again with the dell CD, it's cool you don't need to activate.
The Latidude D600 realy is a good PC, and I don't think we made a mistake theire, I for one am very satisfied with Dell.

i am sure when you all know how to build stable system you will all dump DELL or any thing like that for that matter
if you know how and who assembled DELL,PACKARD BELL or other big names you will not like to pay the same amount you paid for your computer
