from an asp background so struggling like hell with controls

problem lies with trying to create composite controls that includes a label and a checkboxlist because it contains a collection its a whole new ball game simple examples show you hoe to like single items together ie label, textbox, validator omplex examples show you how to build your own designers for custom collection

can't find anything of using collection controls provided by .net
