I am curious to see what everyone has to say about Mr. Gates and their reasons behind their opinions.

He's OK. The stuff is way too over priced, but the software is semi-decent. I admire him for virtually comquering the computer software world, but with OK software.

Thing is, almost since M$'s inception, he's just a figurehead. He hasn't done anything except make personal appearances since like 10 years ago

In as much as I disaprove of MS's policys and business habits. Cant fault a man for being all he can be, to borrow a line from a old comerical. As much as I loath thier products and hate being forced, by process of elimination to use thier products(because their is so little else out there to choose from). I do think he did a dam fine job creating his company and it was built on a model of sucess. So as everyone loves to hate a success story..
But just imagine, a kid in his garage 25 years ago, to dam near the richest man in the world. got to be impressed. And you defiantly know your on top when everyone in the free world is gunning for you.
IMHO

microsoft makes good software, i just don't like the fact that it's so expensive. and operator, i think i read somewhere that bill started helping out the longhorn developers with the next os, so he is still with the development somewhat and in someway, although we probably will rarely hear about it. i also don't like how most of the microsoft ideas are taken, but the ideas that are stolen only last a little while as ms will change it and make it their own over time.

I don't feel anything for the man. He is just another person to me.

I don't sleep at night thinking about him or dream of having his riches.

Ehh............He's rich, Im poor........Im obligated to dislike him in some way right? hmmm I do enjoy the fruits of his labor though. I was fumbling through Linux (couldnt get the hang of it, and I refused to run ME) till I found XP, and I feel its a truely GOOD OS.

I voted for somewhat dislike him.

I feel that his products are way too overpriced and he has stolen many ideas without these actions being justified by the results. Also I feel that there's better piece of software out there named Linux and MAC OS.

I can't ignore the fact that his company has made PCs easy to use for everyone and that he has given us XP : The best software ever produced by MS.
