That's pretty interesting since Pizza Hut will be greatly crtisized for allowing their imployies to carry gun, and will most likly loose custimers, so I guess they valued money more than morales.

What you think about this? |
It's hard becuase their rules stated "no guns" but he did have a liscense. It would be easy if he didn't. You would think they would change the rules or something but maybe for insurance reasons or something they can't allow it. I'm sure other pizza places will have no problems with hiring him. What do you think of it severedthumbs?

You live in a very different counry to me but my opinion is, he was right to defend himself and in that country he broke no law by carrying a gun.
In ths country unless Pizza hut actively promotes a company policy then you cannot be fired for not adhering to it.
Finally it's a lousy job anyway why doesn't he become a cop and shoot all the bad guys? Then he'd get a pat on the back an promotion for it!

Ugh man. What does Pizza Hut really expect? I mean law enforcement investigates and punishes the wrong do-ers. It does not "serve and protect" it may well serve but at least not protect. If it was we would see cops on every corner.
I'd like to see what the Pizza Hut CEO would have done or the manager. Ugh

No, for a change worldnetdaily is not exaggerating the story too awful much. I was on duty and responding to another run when that run came out across town. I spoke with a couple of the officers involved with it later.
Yes; Honeycutt did actually completely empty the clip from his 9mm at the perpetrator:
Yes; Honeycutt hit the perp several times, unknown for sure how many at least 10 according to the pathologist:
Yes; It is entirely believable the perp was still standing after being hit that many times by a weak arsed 9mm! I have personally treated several people hit as much as 8 - 10 times at point blank with a 9mm who were still sitting upright and fully responsive. Would they have died from their wounds with out TX....... probably with in an hour or two. As with any firearm a WELL PLACED 9mm round will stop anybody in their tracks, but then so will the weakest of hand guns a .25 auto. Most people cannot maintain the composure it takes to place that round well though, so they "spray & pray" most of the time until the weapon is empty or the target falls over or flees.
Yes; Pizza Hut does have a no fire arms policy & they did fire Honeycutt, but he's better off fired than fired upon & left for dead.
Yes; Even with their 'no fire arms' policy Pizza Hut had drivers delivering pizzas into a known high crime rate area all alone! Stupid & unsafe management is well tolerated with in Pizza Hut:
The perp's mother was all up in arms over the self defense finding naturally, but then some one needs to explain to her that strong arm & armed robbery is an inherently dangerous occupation and her son could & did well wind up getting shot dead!

obviously the man was fired not because he did something wrong, but because of the bad impact in the media that this case can lead up to. about Pizzahut , that is.

Very interesting indeed. I hope he sues Pizza Hut I think that's stupid to fire him under those conditions period. Was he just suppose to get robbed or even die! The story would have been a lot different if he died. I would sue them but that's just me. He was obviously a good employee or else he wouldnt have been there for 20 plus years...

I whole heartedly belive that the man had every right to carry a gun, as long as he was following all the laws. Which it sounds like he was. Even though I do not own a gun and wouldnt allow one in my house, it is a free country. Pizza Hut was wrong. IMHO. Can you belive that, Im a non-gun-owning consertive, freaky world we live in. Its a shame that there are places where one needs a gun, that should be the bigger and real problem, but to the guy who lost his jobs its only so many words.
HAND
RIP
