I used to routinely schedule the first two days of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as vacation, in the days when ESPN carried the games. I LOVE college football and basketball. I have opened my house to any number of college athletes, liked them, and then learned to detest them once they navigated the draft. The groomsmen in my daughter's wedding were all very tall young men with long feet and big hands and massive egos. Still, they looked divine in black formalwear.

Counting all the mistakes and greed in the games I am still a sucker for Pro Baseball and Hockey. Don't care for Pro football or basketball, but love my Fighting Irish. :new-alien:

I don't much care for Pro Basketball anymore, but I am a certified Cheesehead. If you're not a Pro Football fan, then you may not know what that means. Although, I can watch the Women's Pro Basketball. They are much more fun to watch. They actually dribble and shoot, no dunking.
As far as the Florida teams go, what do you mean you hate them? Dollar for dollar, they're some of the best paid athletes around. LOL

Yup, that's it. I've been a fan of their's since the late 50's.

My hubby still is. That's how I knew what it meant, LOL. But I remember George Halas and the Old Packers - and I grew up with Jim Brown and the Cleveland Browns every Sunday afternoon. Dad and Grandpa would never miss a game.

we would have to watch sunday afternoon football as punishment

I liked it back then, Yaps. I really enjoyed those Sunday afternoons with Daddy and Poppop, as we called him. It seems like athletes weren't as obnoxious as they are nowadays and it didn't feel like we were patronizing a team filled with prima donnas.

If I wasn't forced to watch it at sucha tender age of 5-6 i prolly would of liked it now. Plus my dad wasa grumpy old fart and other stuff I won't get into.
