Well since my Supra died ( head gasket failure @148mpg is scary saywhat ) i've been at a loss for some motoring fun until i bought this car

when i first looked at it i thought dgi "just a crappy mazda" , but the guy selling it just grinned and told me about the car and its mods which included:

Miata ( mx5 to brits ) engine , bored/lightened flywheel, HL cams, uprated injectors, free flow filter, full rally spec exhaust and headers. Brakes and handling to match....
Well i took it out for a test run and gently accelerated the revs in 1st gear to 5000rpm then changed gear.....2nd gear and floored it.....WOAAAAAHHHHHHHHH omg 75 mph in 2nd gear in next to no time...3rd gear topped out at about 115mph w0000t !! here we go again!!.....this car sounds like a motorbike ! theres very little power before 5500rpm , but then it just explodes right up to 7750rpm where the limiter cuts in.

i got back and couldn't hand over the cash quick enough . one happy LOP and one happy seller...

A few days later i decided to see what it would do at top speed:

( thats a smidgen below 150mph - pic taken with a camera phone while driving oops ) which might not sound alot , but this was originally a 100mph-at-a-push vehicle . BUT its how quickly it gets there that is what makes it so fun thumbsup
originally i was going to use this as a run about car until i got the supra fixed, but now the supra is sold and i'm keeping this one for a while....hehe

My only gripe ? approx 200 miles to a full tank of fuel...
* appologises for length of post *

I love this thread, don't know why it keeps disappearing! question

Nice car, LOP, very nice indeed!

I've always been of the mindset that top speed isn't that important, it's how fast you get there that counts. Acceleration is king!
