it's typically setup as primary disks, 0 & 1, as it's setup in my bios. They also might be called physical drives

Well gentlemen, it seems that by using Norton Ghost I copied my new hdd to my old hdd. Had to use System Restore. Got it back up and running. Told the wife I got a virus and it wipe out the entire hdd. She thinks it was me that cause the problem, I just can't let her know it was me. Anyway, the Western Digital hdd was shot. Went out and purchased a Maxtor. Tried to install the installation program off of the CD, I get the following message;

"MaxBlast 3 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Error signature

AppName: maxblast3.exe
AppVer: 1.0.1.0
ModName: odidev.dll
ModVer: 1.0.1.1
Offset: 00001444

Could someone please tell me what this means.

Once again, I would like to thank all of you for helping and looking out for me when I had my n**s in a vise.

Later

http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=151856 Check that out. I use WD HDDs so I'm not familiar with Maxtors. I do know sometimes that programs come not working. My brother just got an HP printer and the installation disk came with an empty CD. We looked on the website and there was a pressing error. This could be your problem. If you go to the Maxtor website you can download a new installation file and try that. Hope this works!

Wow, I've been using Maxtor drives for many years and never got that message. Did you start this program off a CD? Did you boot up with MaxBlast?
