I installed this great card and I got it all setup and I noticed something alittle strange. I have Digital Cable, which give me most of the High Level Channels. My TV and my Computer are both hooked up to the cable in the same fashion From the Wall to the Box and then to the TV and the Computer. Heres where it gets strange. My TV Gets all the Channels, Where my computer only gets 1-99. I know most people would think 99 channels is enough, But TechTV and the Speed Channel are on those Higher Channels.

Guild Plus which comes with the setup software ( It's like a TV Guild ) see's those upper channels, but when I try to go to them I get a blank screen

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this problem???

Thanks

Sounds like a software issue. When you say you only get 1-99, does 100 just show up as static or a blank screen, or does the channel counter not go that high?

I suggest updating the software, if that's possible.

I had an old TV card once. I had to change the tuning type from antenna to cable to receive higher channels. Software issue is the logical culprit.

ATI cards are known for their software probs still haven't gotten mine to work well. You might want to get the latest guide plus and media center.

i have the aiw 9800 pro as well and i have no problems with it whatsoever. updating the guide plus program isnt possible as far as i know.. correct me here if i am wrong.
i use digital cable as well but it is downstairs and i am upstairs with my computer so i only use the cable as it comes straight out of the wall. i think you prodded me to check this problem out and see if it does the same thing on my system.
i currently do not have guide plus on my system. i tend to experiment on my system and typically use a ghost backup. for this reason i've never used the original ati disc to install software. i just grab the latest driver sets( display, multimedia, etc and provide the original disc when asked to). i'll look into the guide plus thing and check back later on this afternoon or tonight.

gee that was fun.. you got further than i did in receiving channels on your digital cable than i did. i could only get one channel and nothing else.
also i installed guide plus and checked out the faq's at ati and found out that digital cable boxes are not compatible with guide plus. that said it shouldn't keep you from watch digital signal once they are processed thru the box and sent out to your aiw card.
i'm a time warner subscriber and use a atlantic scientific box so i dont have an answer for you..
btw check the guide plus program group on the start up menu--programs---guideplus---system update wizard to see if you have the latest version..
keep us posted

Okay your problem is probably that the digital cable is sent as just that a digital signal and without the cable box to output to channel 3 your video card which only has a standard analog tuner doesnt have a clue about the digital signal and has no clue what to do with it. if you want to watch or record those higher channels i suggest you output from a digital cable box to your AIW and just watch channel 3 on the AIW and record CH 3 if you so need to.
