The old versions would sometimes kill an internet connection after Netscape was uninstalled. It happened to me a few times. They finally fixed that though, apparently it would sometimes delete the Winsock files when it was uninstalled.
With the XP Cd in the drive, I would do a Start>Run>sfc /scannow
The check that there are no entries in the hosts file and make sure there even is one. I would go to the Tools>Internet Options and reset every setting to the default settings and make sure there aren't any firewalls running.

Haven't been here for a while... and it's WWWWAAAAYYYY different than it used to be here so I probably am posting in the wrong spot.

For the last couple months I haven't been able to play some word games in the zone, and was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if they fixed it. The games are Bespelled, TextTwist, and WhatWord. I've done everything the Zone said to do, but nothing works. I've asked for help from just about everyone on the planet, but no one can help me. If I download the game for a certain time limit, it works fine. But at the site it don't work at all.

Hey buddy,
Sorry I didn't reply sooner I have been sick. I love to play these games are well sometimes and ran into some issues on my old machines.

Make sure you are using internet explorer 5.5 and higher. Also make sure you goto www.macromedia.com and download the latest flash v6 (now I think) and the latest version of shockwave. Those are really the only requirements you need.

Lets us know if this doesn't work.

Thanks,
