hi all
im trying to make my first site smilenod but i have somethings in mind i want to ask about
1-i made the first steps but i want to have a ftp server to put the files in it so how can i do this
2- how space can the ftp server carry
3- where can i find this for free embarrassed
i know my q. look silly but sorry im a total newbie so plz help me embarrassed
and thx all for your help thumbsup

If you have a computer that you don't plan on turning off anytime soon you can set up an FTP Server on that computer...All you need is software like Blackmoon's FTP which allows such things...It lets you specifiy a directory (or multiple directories) for your site, and it takes care of the rest...

Be warned though, for a website, you need to grant anonymous users access to those folders and this presents obvious security risks =/


As for how much space they can support, if you run your own: you define it, otherwise, I think you pay for it? I'm not too sure, heh whistle

I'm doubt (worthwhile) free-FTP services exist, but I might be wrong...Most charge both by space & bandwith (per month), but it's not too much... Myrmid is very reasonable =)

Hehe, I stand corrected, but I wasn't too sure to begin with. whistle I was familiar with such servicies as PhotoBucket, but I assumed the FTP was meant for other files like *.exes, *.rars, etc (in addition to pics). But that one looks rather promising, gj thumbsup
