I installed longhorn on the laptop without trouble. I now have been trying to install it on my desktop, but am having nothing but errors trying to do it. Most seem random, but I do remember seeing a 409 once or twice. I still have a few things to try, but just wanted to know if there are any issues with the Asus board or using the WinXP drivers for setup. Thanks for any help. I gonna go try again!

Jay

You wrote something about raid. The manufacturer of your raid controller ? I had no luck with my Silicon Image SATA-Raid controller.

I wish I could do that, but I am trying to set the OS on that drive. So I am not able to do that (that I know of?). I gave up for now. I need to do a little more reading, besides, its technically my wifes computer now. I have been banished to the laptop due to the frequencies of reformatting!

If you are saying that you can not use compatibility mode, then there is a way. The compatibility mode is under other properties in properties.

Im saying that I cannot get it installed on the Raid Controller. I wanted to be able to run the OS running RAID 0, but I can never get to a full install. I just keep getting BSOD's. Like I said, the wife mainly uses that machine anyway, so I am probably better off leaving it alone until a beta comes out at least. She tends to give me an attitude from time to time when I "play" computer. omg The main reason I wanted to try it on that machine is because its got plenty of horsepower, ya know??

LOL i can understand your dilemma. Keep at it until the beta comes out then you'll have an excuse to use the wife's computer.... lol
