i have the same prob the only way i see if somehow you can get hold of the temp install file it download and change the compatbilty on that but i know nothing of direct X

you can try right clicking on the .exe file going to properties, then click on the compatability tab and say run as windows 2000. It may or may not work, it has worked for me on things that complained they werent compatable before. Good Luck thumbsup

Please whatever you do DONT install DirectX 9.0b on your Longhorn system. Longhorn already has directx 9.0a, which should be more than suitable for your needs. The newer version of directx will only make your system unusable.
