Hi guys, i just joined this forum. Here's a quick question...
I've installed LH 4051, but cant get my Windows Media Player to play videos (mpegs, etc).
I just get an error message "Serious Error", etc.
The same files play fine on Windows XP.
Any suggestions? thanks!

Can you give some more info on the error message.
You may also need to use a different Media player than windows. Winamp works for audio and http://skynet4ever.tk/ is the SLD CODEC PACK. It has all the stuff you need for the files and has a great media player that will play all types of formats. Its freeware, without spyware or ads. I have used this in LH 4051 and previous versions and had no problems. What ever you do dont install DirectX 9. Let me know how you make out. |

first off thanks a lot, *starz*; very considerate take there, thanks!
right, ejoseph, thanks for your help, mate, i'm off to try the SLD Codec Pack...then i'll be back with more info on the media player problem..
the thing is though, i dont know if anyone has had a similar problem? perhaps its just down to my hardware?...i'll also add more info on what hardware i use..
once again thanks *starz*, and ejoseph...this forum is actually starting to look good to me...people actually help out..cool stuff!

Right, guys thanks for all your help! 
it seems i finally discovered the reason for this problem. It may be directly connected to my hardware configuration. My quick solution was to open media player and from the tools menu, choose options, then performance. I then reduced the hardware acceleration settings. After this everything went fine.
