I am sorry but NO NO NO NO NO AND NO!!!!! I am all for helping out other countries but do you realize how much even half of that would help out several of the programs in this country?!?! I am sure the relief funds for the 9/11 victims families is still not enough. Also the struggling companies that lost a lot during 9/11. The homeless, Cancer research, AIDS/HIV research, other diseases research, home security, healthcare, education....I could go on and on and on about this. Now, unfortunately I missed Bush's speech and justification for all this but I still think it's way too much. mad

Ok I used to be a hardcore Republican. Then I seemed to have seen some light and I went middle of the road. You get in less trouble there.

Right now, with all that's been going on, and hearing this new speech. Plus our budget is $401 billion short, and expected to be $408 next year short...

Point is... the economy sucks, period. We don't have Saddam, or Osama. College tuition is through the roof, and thousands of jobs have been lost. Now we're rushing into third world nations, while Iraq is slowing turning into Vietnam. One lost a day is to much, and nearly 10 injured a day we don't hear about. I voted for Bush, and I supported him.

But lately...

I'm seriously giving thought to swinging to a liberal vote next November. I'm just not sure what else to do...

I look forward to others thoughts.

Nolez our Government has also announced in conjunction with your President the amount of money we are also contributing, and it has created a furore here in Britain also. I think we should be looking after things at home first.

I want to know who told them this was a good idea? There is no way to get public support for that kinda of money. Politicians that support it, should start to pack up their offices because they won't be back next year.

I am just so furious about this right now, I can't even get a clear thought out. I think what brought this anger on about this amount was from watching two 9/11 documentaries last night and learning even more info about the losses.

It's kinda like the new Under Amoure commercial. "WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!!"

That is the same commercial I thought of Nolez...

Will you protect this hooouse... I will I will.

But are we? Here? I feel like we're 'playing' to many away games and that's getting to be a big tab.

I still don't think we are doing enough and that our guard is a bit down. That's the problem with Americans some times and I hate to say that but it's true. One minute we unite as one and the next we are flicking each other off in traffic because someone got a car length ahead of them. I just feel that the majority has already forgotten the major impact of 9/11 and how serious it really was and still is.

That money could have been spent much more wisely. I mean, think of what 81 billion dollars could do for the economy, or for the school systems! The war is really none of our concern anyway. If you closely follow what "President" Bush does, you'll see that the things he has done (starting from when he first came into office) have been very suspicious. He cuts funding for things like the environment that have to be protected, but can spend billions of dollars on a war that I believe is over oil. If he increased the standards for gas mileage on cars, the war would never have started in my opinion.
