How many versions does XPpro have now? Also(assuming there is no full version of XP) can I do a clean install with the WinXPpro upgrade or am I going to need a previous OS one my HD before I put XPpro on?

Not forgetting the XP Pro Corp edition!! And the not yet released Windows XP server editions which will be called Windows .Net!! And before you say its not XP, its build on the same basis of XP and is very similar just with more features for server related things!

The Corp Edition is just a repackaged Pro Edition that allows an installation that is pre-activated. It is NOT a separate version of the XP-family. There will indeed be more server-versions shortly, but they are not yet among us. So I think Epec254's answer is correct.
