Longhorn Version 4015...i installed it. it copied the CD to the HD then setup took a mere 15 min to complete for a total or 25 min till i was at the desktop. when i booted, besides the new sidebar and theme, it acts like XP with very few different freature... i was dissapointed because i have been waiting for 8 months to get a copy of longhorn. besides a new parental controls, contacts, and my computer, the OS didnt have the drivers for my sound card, video card or motherboard chipset! there are no updates to the included software and IE is 6.05

15GB HD
4x4x32 Sony CD-RW
as long as you call it Windows Longhorn XP its fine, but just windows longhron.....

Hi Musicmaster
Once you have looked into Longhorn a bit more, you will find quite a few new features, and if you have a look at our tweaking guides this should help you further. Also if you browse further in this area of the forum, you will find a few articles realting to Longhorn's new features.
all the best

hi musicmaster, i hear you, under it all it's still windows, it started with windows 3 then the 9x ver's and the nt kernal (NT, 2K, XP), why would m$ revent the wheel, dos has been around a long time and it's still imbedded in longhorn, like mac said, check out the tweaks, i think most xp drivers will work, good luck.

I honestly feel that MS is holding back on the key features. why else do they still need over a year for release? this is just an alpha release, I think they just havent finished the good stuff yet. only my opinion.

i agree xstream,
i think its going to be a server/user intargrated system if m$ has its way, sort of like user pay to run prog's/games off the server, i think they even let the alpha/beta builds get around to promote the product.
